Doval stated that the LAC dispute has destroyed India-China trust: The globe will be affected by our connections; we are not enemies, according to Chinese official Wang Yi.
Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor (NSA) of India, met Wang Yi, the senior diplomat of China, on Tuesday. Doval, who was present at the Friends of BRICS meeting in Johannesburg, claimed that since the year 2020, the LAC scenario has eroded India and China's strategic trust.
Wang Yi asserted that PM Modi and Chinese President Jinping reached an understanding to reestablish bilateral relations during their meeting in Bali last year. Wang Yi made a request for BYD Motors, a Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles, to reconsider its bid to establish a plant in India after it was turned down.
China stated on the BYD project that India should reevaluate its choice.
India and China are not at war, according to Wang Yi, and New Delhi should rethink its choice. Whether the two nations cooperate or disagree with one another, it will directly affect how India-China and the world situation develop.
The two officials concurred on the need for improved ties.
It was decided to put an end to the hostility between the two diplomats at the meeting, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua. Wang pleaded with Doval to mend the frayed ties between the two nations. Doval responded by bringing up the shared interests of the two nations.
Both officials concurred that strong bilateral ties between India and China are crucial for the advancement of both nations as well as the destiny of the entire region.
Cybersecurity and AI were also covered.
Along with this, Doval discussed the global difficulties with AI and cyber security. He claimed that when new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and the internet of things are developed, cyber dangers will become more significant. He emphasized the importance of teamwork in addressing the difficulties of the internet. Doval declared that India will always support the Global South in overcoming these obstacles.
The India-China border conflict is the most onerous challenge, according to Jaishankar.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had previously attended a BRICS conference a few days prior. He spoke with Wang Yi during this time regarding the border dispute and peace efforts. The prolonged conflict between India and China over the past three years, according to Jaishankar, has been his most challenging diplomatic situation to date.
